  • Yuba, Feather, Trinity

  • Lower Sac (Redding–Red Bluff and Red Bluff–Verona: Colusa, Los Molinos, Ord Bend, etc.)

  • Yuba, Feather, American

  • Lower Sac, Sac Red Bluff–Los Molinos

  • Trinity, Klamath

  • Truckee, Upper Sac

We may use a drift boat, raft, or jet boat to carry gear, cover more water, and show you both river-left and river-right casting situations. Although these trips are built for Spey and Trout Spey rods, we can also teach swing techniques with 9.5–10 ft single-hand rods and short Skagit heads, turning your favorite nymphing rod into a legitimate swinging tool.

Walk & wade trips are primarily on:

On the Yuba and Sac, shad trips are primarily walk-and-wade, though we can fish from the boat as needed. For anglers who struggle with wading or prefer to stay in the boat, the American and Feather offer excellent boat-based options

Payments & Deposits – Standard Day Trips

A 50% deposit is required within 1 day of booking your fishing trip. The remaining balance is due on the day of your trip.

Initial deposit can be paid via:

  1. Check

  2. Venmo

  3. Zelle

Please come prepared with Cash, Check, Venmo, or Zelle to complete your payment on the day of your trip. Credit cards are not accepted.

Once a date is mutually agreed on and booked via phone, text, email, or private message, it is implied that the client accepts NCFG’s payment and cancellation policy. NO EXCEPTIONS.

All-Inclusive Trips may follow a different payment schedule, as noted in their trip descriptions.

Refunds & Cancellations – Standard Day Trips

We have a 30-day cancellation policy for standard guided trips.

  • Cancellations outside of 30 days:

Your deposit can be applied to a future trip or refunded in full.

  • Cancellations inside of 30 days:

Your deposit is forfeited, unless we can rebook your dates with another party. NCFG will help try to fill those dates, but the original booking party is ultimately responsible.

Please keep in mind that fly fishing is an outdoor activity and adverse weather is part of the experience. We do not cancel trips for general bad weather or situations outside of the guide’s control.

If weather/water conditions become dangerous or unfishable, the guide will make the call to reschedule your trip.

For emergency situations that arise for either angler or guide, we will postpone and reschedule your trip to a future date. NCFG will make a best effort to accommodate rescheduling needs based on available dates.

There are no refunds for:

  • Natural disasters

  • Pandemics

  • Situations outside of the guide’s control

In those cases, trips will be rescheduled within a reasonable time frame or forfeited if not rebooked.

Rescheduled trips must be rebooked within 30 days of the original date and do not warrant a refund of the original deposit. Donated trips canceled within 30 days are forfeited in full.

If you cancel within 30 days and are scheduled to fish with one of NCFG’s guides other than Brian Clemens, and we are unable to rebook that guide for the day, you will be required to pay the remaining balance of the 50% deposit.

Booking a fishing trip with Nor Cal Fly Guides by phone, text, email, or private messenger confirms your trip and your acceptance of these payment and cancellation policies.

Gratuities

Our guides work extremely hard to make sure your trip is both educational and entertaining. While gratuities are not mandatory, they are always appreciated and are standard practice in the guiding industry. Tips should be based on your overall experience and enjoyment, not strictly on the number of fish caught. Typical gratuities range from 15–25%, and are separate from trip payment.
